Royal Wedding

The Archbishop of Canterbury has confirmed that The Church of England have" dealt with" the divorce of Meghan Markle as it would with any other couple.  He is explained her previous marriage was not " an issue" and he would take great pleasure officiating at the Royal wedding later this month.

Ms Markle married American film producer Trevor Engelson in 2011. They filed for divorce in 2013 citing "irreconcilable differences"

The Church of England usually teaches marriage is for life and that it is only in exceptional circumstances that a divorced person may marry in church, when their former spouse is still living. The Queen, of course, is the Head of the Church of England.

As well as being brought up a Catholic, and having been previously married, there are of course a number of other significant features about Meghan, which will make her a very special Royal Bride. She is Bi-racial, A proud American brought up in Hollywood, a Humanitarian and also an actress, best known for her role as the talented young lawyer Rachel Zane, in the Legal drama "Suits"

Those familiar with the role she played for seven years, will be aware that despite having a father who was the Senior Partner in a very large corporate law firm, she was never lured by the attractions of nepotism and instead, struggled to climb the career ladder by working incredibly hard, in a competing law firm.

It will be interesting to see if life imitates art.....
